Styled Barrio Viejo Shoot with Butterfly Petals!
This was truly one of the most fun shoots to do, ever! The ever so talented Amanda from Butterfly petals, dreamed up this romantic little Barrio/ Mexican inspired shoot and brought me on board to photograph it. It was such a treat to get to photograph all her beautiful floral creations. From her saguaro skeleton ceremony pieces, to her beautiful bougainvillea head pieces, everything she does is unique and gorgeous.
Once we got a plan together, I asked my ever to talented friend Jenny of De Filippis Designs to create one of her amazing invitation suites to fit the style of the shoot. The colors were amazing!
My second shooter, and fellow friend/photography Kelsey of Kelsey Shirley Photography came along too…and brought her ADORABLE kids for us to photograph. Love these two!
The location for the shoot was in the old Barrio Viejo in downtown Tucson at El Tiradito Shrine. Click the name to read more about the history there…amazing!
All the jewelry and vintage clothes were thanks to Alexis at Avenue Boutique how handmade most of the jewelry you see. Check out her gorgeous creations on her website!
This cute face!
The shoot was fun for obvious creative reasons, but it was also fun because everyone involved was so fun! We even had food, drinks and of course- a tequila shot!
These tables were exquisite!
Beautiful menus and table numbers by De Filippis Designs!
This is my favorite shot from the shoot!
The earrings! Again, Avenue Boutique.
The amazing Sugar Sweet Bakery even got involved, making some delicious cupcakes and cookie favors for the shoot. Their dessert is INSANE. The best cookies I have ever had in my life…and I am a cookie SNOB. Everything they do in that bakery is perfection, aestitically and taste-wise!
Love these table favors- cookies in a jar with custom tags that say “Mr. & Mrs.” great idea!
Bunny the donkey shoed up to make an appearance at the end of the shoot too! He is the sweetest donkey, and was so easy to work with.
Of douse ever model, needs to take a snack break…
A very special thank you to our amazing models! You both are such awesome and gorgeous peep and friends!

Erica & Brett: Barrio & Desert Engagement
I have to say this is one of the funnest shoots I’ve done. These two were full of ideas, laughs and stories. I felt like I was just amongst friends the whole time. Relaxed, sweet and charismatic describe these two best. This shoot started off in the old Barrio, and then moves into the desert for our final hour of shooting.
The great things about the barrio is that there is so much beautiful landscaping and color. Love this next one…
This next series had so many good ones, I had to include a bunch.
Brett, or Brad as I accidentally called him the whole time- had all of us craving up.
Erica is the cutest….I got so many cute shots of her I had to make a composite.
The couple got this amazing bag while traveling in Spain…had to incorporate.
Congrats you two! Thank you so much for sharing your evening with me! XO
Karina & Stephen: Stillwell House Wedding, Tucson, AZ
When I first met these two I could immediately see how easy going and sweet they were. Karina, the bride had every detail of this wedding planned down to the napkins. Being a huge DIY kind of gal, she made almost everything for the wedding. Her classic, but whimsical style really showed up in every element….
This dress! It fit her like a glove.
Karina, you are just stunning!
This bridal party was so fun!
One of my favorite shots from the wedding…
After family and bridal party photos, we headed downtown for our bride and groom shoot…
Love this little candid below.
This bride is just stunning- photographs so well too!
Love this sign….
My favorite doors in all of Tucson!
Thanks for letting me share your day Karina & Stephen! Congratulations!
Lauren & Ryan: Fall Engagement Session
These two! One of the most loving, kind and genuine couples I have ever had the pleasure of photographing (or knowing!). For their ‘fall’ engagement session we headed to the barrio in downtown Tucson, for some biker fun (these two are amazing outdoors-peeps), followed by a fun hike in the washes of Sabino Canyon.
Love Lauren’s bike!
This is portably one of my favorite shots of all time below…
This is a session favorite…you have to believe me when I say this was a TOUGH shot to get. These two never stop smiling- and were cracking up the entire time I was trying to get a dead-pan face. Too cute.
I love the Barrio- it feels like Tucson to me!
Next we took the tram to the top of Sabino Canyon and then walked down.
They really are this natural and snuggly all the time-its a photographers dream!
Love this next set in the wash…
Forget it! LOVE.
It’s hard to really experience FALL in Tucson, but I think we totally achieved it in Sabino Canyon. So many beautiful colors!
I need these boots. SWOON.
Thank you Lauren and Ryan for letting me a part of your engagement AND wedding! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness! XO
Aleks & Adam: Wedding at DC Ranch, Scottsdale, AZ
Most of you might remeber this stunning face from her engagement session with her handsome husband HERE. I was so excited that they ended up choosing me to also photograph their wedding at DC Ranch. They have been one of the easiest couples to photograph, because they are so genuine and loving. I rarely had to give them instructions on how to pose or what to do- they always just fell into it so easily and naturally. Adam and Aleks became one of my couples at a time when my business was just beginning, and from that point on it has just exploded. Since photographing thier engagment session, I have been so insanely busy- bought lots of new equipment, met so many other amazing vendors and photographers, and grow faster than I could keep up with. With the amazing assistance of my new employee Lindsay (more on her soon!) I am now able to balance my blog too- and start posting more weddings!
Needless to say, this blog post has been a long time coming! I would like to thank this sweet couple so much for believing in me, and my work and for helping me become the wedding photographer I wanted to be. Love you both! Thank you also to my second shooter Natalie, of Natalie Lindberg Photography- you make work so fun! ! You got so many AMAZING shots, I could not have done this with out you or your talent!
Love this one of the groom and his Dad.
Love this one of the bridesmaids looking through the door my second shooter Natalie got…they were such fun bridesmaids.
First look before the ceremony:
This elevator shot was so fun- love this look!
Parent gifts…
Aleks did a first look with her Dad too- I love this idea.
When Adams sister saw Adam she immediately started crying, it was the sweetest moment.
I love this cross- it was HAND MADE the week of the wedding by the brides Dad & grandpa. It truly made the ceremony site so special. After the wedding the bride gave the cross to the guys from Flora Bella flowers so other brides could enjoy it for years to come.
Aleks lost her mom, and she designated a seat to her mom. This made the ceremony so special, her moms presence was really felt at the wedding.
Best flower girl move of all time!
After they were announced as man and wife they kissed and then had the longest hug…it was so sweet.
I feel like everyone asks to see the brides rings, and I always get a shot of that, but Aleks was so excited to see Adam with a ring…it was so adorable! Love this next shot…
The bride and groom made this really amazing “memory tree” and hung photos of family members who were lost, but not forgotten. It was a really nice way to honor their special family members who were not there. Below the tree were the “table numbers”. Each guest got a luggage tag as a gift (this was a destination wedding after all…). The tags gave guest their ‘destination table’. Instead of a traditional number at each table the bride and groom featured a photo of them on a trip- the luggage tags told each guest what destination to go to. Such a fun idea!
Love the romantic lighting of the ranch….the use of so many candles on the tables gave such a romantic vibe.
The bride and groom custom made each and every guest a thank you note and put them at people place settings. Such a nice gesture- and really made the tables unique.
Love this tree at DC ranch!
This next one was the bride and grooms Christmas card….
Cutest groom move ever below!!!
There was a full moon that night, which made the first dance so romantic and beautiful.
Let’s just say their bridal party was amazing on the dance floor. ..
After their wedding I asked Aleks (bride) to write a little something about her wedding and her experience etc. Below is a part of what she wrote, that just really stuck with me:
From the Bride: “It is hard for me to pin point my favorite part of our wedding day as I can honestly say I enjoyed every moment (especially hugging Adam after we were pronounced husband and wife!) People kept asking me if I was excited to be getting married “today”, “in a couple of hours”, “in an hour” and although I was overjoyed to marry my amazing husband, I did my best not to think forward to the next hour or next minute because I had been waiting for ALL of this for so long that I did not want to miss any of it. My mother always told me that when you look back on your life you only remember certain moments so try and recognize when you are “in a moment” and really soak it in.
….our wedding was full of these moments and was everything I envisioned it to be and more. I just wish we could go back and do it all over again!”
Congrats you guys! Thank you so much for letting me a part of your day!
