I am so excited/ nervous/ anxious to announce that Elizabeth McDonnell Photography will be expanding to Hawaii! In June my family and I will be packing up and heading out of the desert for sun, sand, and pineapple! I say we are expanding because I will still be coming back to Arizona quite often to snap weddings, and family sessions as well as see friends and family. My dear, sweet, thoughtful, smart, BEAUTIFUL friend, rounded out her beautiful family with her 4th child this winter. I was lucky enough to capture her at 35 weeks pregnant, just 3 weeks before I got captured her sweet daughters birth! For her maternity session, Erin decided to do photos of just her and the baby…saving the whole family photo thing for the coming months. We were really able to just capture her and Sam together, which I know Sam (and Erin) will cherish forever. We headed into an open park that had just recently been covered in this beautiful white/yellow buffalos grass & yellow flowers to capture Erin in her last, and final trimester of pregnancy. The desert sun, indigenous cactus, and beautiful mountain provided the perfect relaxing setting for baby & mom. Thank you Erin for letting me be a part of this! Love you with all my heart! Congrats!
This FACE! I first met this sweet baby girl at her newborn shoot, when she was teeny tiny and under weight…my how the times have changed. She is the sweetest, chunkiest, happiest baby and I had a blast at her shoot. For this family session we met at a pecan grove here in Tucson, just as the leaves had begun to yellow. The mama, Jackie (with the most amazing head of hair you have EVER seen!), did an amazing job styling these three and it was just so hard to pick out my favorites. Enjoy looking!

What started as a clammily of mishaps….turned into one of the cutest shoots with some of my favorite people. Isn’t that the way? In the fall Graham and I packed up and headed over to Austin, TX to explore a little Texas hospitality and visit my adorable nephews! Of couse no visit with the McDonnell’s is complete without a photo-shoot. After much debate in locations we settled on a park that was walking distance from their house- which made things easy for the boys. With the gorgeous open landscape, tall yellow grasses and beautiful trees, this park provided a great backdrop to this beautiful family. I brought Graham along with me…which provided a mix of both laughing and crying. The shots from this shoot are some of my favorites ever. These four are so kind, loving and full of life- such a fun combo to photograph! Enjoy! Happy Holidays!

I have to say this is one of the funnest shoots I’ve done. These two were full of ideas, laughs and stories. I felt like I was just amongst friends the whole time. Relaxed, sweet and charismatic describe these two best. This shoot started off in the old Barrio, and then moves into the desert for our final hour of shooting.
The great things about the barrio is that there is so much beautiful landscaping and color. Love this next one…

These two are the quinessential classic couple. Elegant, polite and ever so beautiful. It was so fun getting to photograph them for their engagement shoot, along with their pup! For this shoot, we meet in downtown Tucson- and then wandered into the desert near the Tucson mountains for some more casual shots.
The Palo Verdes were STUNNING this year…so many yellow blooms.

When I first met these two I could immediately see how easy going and sweet they were. Karina, the bride had every detail of this wedding planned down to the napkins. Being a huge DIY kind of gal, she made almost everything for the wedding. Her classic, but whimsical style really showed up in every element….
This dress! It fit her like a glove.

These two! One of the most loving, kind and genuine couples I have ever had the pleasure of photographing (or knowing!). For their ‘fall’ engagement session we headed to the barrio in downtown Tucson, for some biker fun (these two are amazing outdoors-peeps), followed by a fun hike in the washes of Sabino Canyon.

This is a session favorite…you have to believe me when I say this was a TOUGH shot to get. These two never stop smiling- and were cracking up the entire time I was trying to get a dead-pan face. Too cute.

Next we took the tram to the top of Sabino Canyon and then walked down.
They really are this natural and snuggly all the time-its a photographers dream!
